£13.5million in extra funding has been announced ahead of its official launch in September.
Under the government scheme “Energy Efficiency” £3.5million will be made available for training hundreds of people in key green skills and links directly with the Deputy Prime Ministers announcement last year that 1000 green skills apprentice jobs would be created.
The Department of Energy & Climate Change is putting a further £3million into the scheme and the CITB a further £500,000.
In addition the DECC is funding £10million vary a competition supporting innovative technologies aimed at significant energy savings for both domestic and non domestic buildings. This scheme is aimed at working towards the UK’s climate targets.
