£35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Preston (Hybrid & Surrounding Areas)
5 day working week
Vehicle
£27,50 OT for weekends
£57 an hour for bank holidays,
26 days holiday+ bank,

My client is a leading manufacturer of Palletisation Machinery on a multinational scale. They are seeking a Field Service Engineer to look after their packaging machinery in the Northwest area. This is a great opportunity for an engineer to put their own stamp on the company and work with many packaging companies in the area mentioned above.
Responsibilities include:
- The role requires on-site service and stay away visits from time to time to deal with installations servicing, RPM, and breakdowns.
- Ideally you have experience in replacing and repairing motors, drives, relays, pumps, cylinders, invertors and more.
- You will effectively lead and service and repair the machinery equipment & assets. You will be required to work on bearings, chains, bolts, pulleys, and other various mechanical parts
- Having an understanding of single phase, three phase metres and an understanding of electrical & mechanical drawings would be advantageous
- An understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics as well as being able to deal with general faults on machinery.
- PLC fault finding
Essential:
- Strong customer service skills
- 2+ years’ experience in packaging, FMCG, Manufacturing or Industrial.
- Strong mechanical background with some electrical experience.
- Either Pneumatics or hydraulics experience
- A related qualification in mechanical engineering or similar.
- City & Guilds experience is welcome.
Electrical Engineers are also being considered for the role who have a strong mechanical background.
Excellent training will also be given, including PLC knowledge. You do not have to be the finished article.
