Description

My client is the world’s foremost provider of technology, production, and staging services into the entertainment industry, featuring Live events, corporate, sport and broadcasting. All with exciting opportunities in video engineers, display engineers and audio engineers.

They have been long established internationally, specialising in audio equipment and services. Placing video engineers to assist with the Olympic, display engineers at Wimbledon, audio engineers at Music festivals and productions like Strictly Come Dancing.

They are looking to fill several video engineers, display engineers and audio engineers’ positions but have a very exciting opportunity for a senior display engineer.

£50,000 +

Crawley

£26,000-£36,000 basic

Company vehicle

 All expenses paid when on-site

£30 flat on-site rate.

25 days holidays plus bank holidays.

The role

Inhouse prepping and maintaining systems. Working closely with the warehouse management team maintaining and preparing all Visions and integrated Networks based rental stock. Ensuring all equipment is prepared prior to delivery.

Onsite installation, operating and dismantling live events. Shows will involve rigging and connecting systems, clearly labelled and quick troubleshoot, making up cables and systems while documenting all the system configurations. You may be operating equipment during the show. You will be expected to dismantle equipment in a neat and orderly fashion always communicating clearly with others in your department and at the event. Ensuring any faults have been clearly marked up and fed back to the appropriate department.

Responsibilities


  • Check in, check out maintenance of all rental stock, including building and testing systems for delivery to site.
  • Organisation of workspaces including prep area, demo/programming spaces, equipment storage and general tidiness.
  • Installation and commissioning of visual systems including camera, screen switching, media servers, and projection onsite following direction from project manager or senior technical staff.
  • Operating vision systems in live shows including liaising with clients and co-site crew. This may include racking of live camera systems or operating playback or switching systems.
  • Technical support of in house and on-site systems and services.
  • Dismantling and packing up live events.
  • Assisting in loading and unloading trucks.

Other Responsibilities


  • Working within the NEP group to maximise Group revenue.
  • Establish a good working relationship with the Warehouse team, Project management and on-site engineers.
  • Develop in- depth knowledge of equipment with a view to offering technical support.
  • Pay close attention to industry trends and consider how we can refine pr improve our offering systems.
  • Pro-actively learn from senior engineers and project engineers to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Health and safety observations of correct working practices and PPE.
  • Be aware of and adhere to the company HSEQM policy as defined in the policy manual for ISO9001, ISO14001 and BS 180001.
  • Adhering to internal processes.

Skills / Qualifications


  • Experience of working in the Live event sector
  • Knowledge and experience of working with video equipment
  • Confident communicator with string interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent team player
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Tidy and organised working style with excellent time manager skills.
  • Pro-active and self-motivated; ability to use initiative and be flexible.
  • Problem solving; ability to use initiative and be flexible
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Good attention details
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE passes at a grade C or above (must include maths and English)
  • Basic technical knowledge of equipment functionally would be an advantage
  • Strong IT skill including MS office.
