Description

My client is a well-established Mobile Elevating Work Platform manufacturer and one of the largest in Europe which supplies worldwide. They use state of the art software with vigorous testing to ensure that the best products are produced. Due to continued growth and work load they are looking for a Mechanically minded CAD Engineer to join their design team to support the engineering teams. As a CAD Engineer you will be supporting teams with drafting and modelling mechanical components and assemblies.

Title – Mechanical CAD Engineer
Location – Milton Keynes
Salary - £35,000 - £39,000 (DOE), 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, pension scheme, Life insurance, healthcare scheme, annual bonus and company family days & lunches.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Supporting projects by completing detailing activities to meet projects scheduling requirements.
  • Performing basic design calculations.
  • Prepare and update 2D part and assembly drawings.
  • Prepare and update 3D CAD models.
  • Implement change control of components in line with the business functions.
  • Work with design engineers to establish solutions to mechanical engineering challenges.

To apply you MUST have or hold:


  • 2 years industry experience in similar role.
  • Experience in producing drawings to BS8888 standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO Limits and fits.
  • Knowledge Creo 7.0 Parametric or a similar 3D parametric CAD software.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, general steel fabrication and welding, pressing and manufacturing processes.
  • Drafting experience using AutoCAD is a benefit.
  • Understanding of geometrical tolerancing and Datum features.
  • Be keen to learn new technologies.
  • Be able to work to a high standard with good attention to detail.
