Health and Safety Officer
Leicester
36 hours Monday - Friday.
£30,000 - £40,000 + Death in service, income protection, critical illness cover, 5% pension contribution matched but it goes up with age and years in service + 28 days holiday (and your bank holidays) + Premier Inn account + Discount scheme + Private health care BUPA scheme + Medi Cash covering healthcare and dental.
My client is a global leading machine tool manufacturer developing multi-axes, multi-pallet, premium machine tools that ensure a high level of accuracy to their client base. They are now offering the opportunity for an experienced health and safety officer to join their growing and dynamic team at their headquarters in Leicester.
For the right candidate there is progression into facilities management and you will be working for a company that prides itself on innovation and rewards hard work.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving license is essential as there is occasional UK travel involved in the role
- NEBOSH General certificate in Occupational Health and safety or IOSH equivalent is desirable as is NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management and NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate
- IMS Internal auditor (ISO)
- ISO certification knowledge and understanding of the ISO auditing is required.
- A knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- First aid training is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- You will ensure that the company maintains their ISO certification (ISO 9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001)
- You will ensure that Health and Safety legislation is complied with.
- You will perform new risk assessments and review existing assessments and method statements.
- You will investigate all accidents in accordance with RIDDOR
- Control the COSHH and DSEAR requirements.
- Assist with first aid requirements.
