The company
My client designs & manufactures filling machines that mainly supplies to the dairy & beverage industries, The equipment ranges from Filling, sealing, capping of cartons or bottles. The company are worldwide & offer solutions to all the major blue chip OEMS related to carton filling.
Role
- Install, breakdown, repair, service of filling lines across the UK & Ire
- Attending reactive breakdowns onsite
- Provide customer with ongoing maintenance support
- Mechanical responsibilities which includes: Bearing, gearboxes, chains, pulleys
- Working on hydraulic & pneumatic systems
- Ability to do basic fault finding – electrical i.e read electrical diagrams, wire & re-wire
- Flexibility to travel & stay away from home sometimes a week at a time
- Working on upgrades of production lines
- Understanding of LEAN manufacturing
- Strong personal skills
- PLC knowledge is advantageous
Background & Quals
- Apprentice trained – Mechanical
- Experience of maintenance or service engineering
- FMCG/Heavy mechanical experience needed
- Would take a junior engineer straight out of their apprenticeship
