My client is a world leader in in the design, manufacture, and supply of leaflet label machinery with a strong reputation in the packaging industry and are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on new innovation processes and design solutions for their packaging machinery.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

The Role
- Mechanical design of bespoke capital equipment/packaging machinery
- Using SolidWorks/AutoCAD
- Dealing with specification drawings
- Working on projects up to £20,000 - £250,000 in value
- Managing multiple projects at once
- Working to tight deadlines
- Projects lengths could be 2-6 months.
- Build strong relationships with the Project Management team.
- Dealing with customers on technical issues & challenges
- Visit potential customers.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and within deadlines.
Skills & attributes
- Experience of SolidWorks, CAD software is essential.
- Methodical approach
- Good relationship builder
- Problem solver
- Experience of sheet metal design, pneumatics & drives
- Understanding of pressures and tolerances, sizes and manufacturing processes.
- Background of Mechanical design of bespoke machines/capital equipment/packaging machinery/conveyors
Qualifications
- Mechanical engineer qualification preferably HNC/HND
- 3-5 years industrial machinery experience
