Role: Technical Services Engineer
Company Sector: Architectural Lighting

My client is a specialist lighting solutions partner that operates in the architectural lighting sector on projects across the UK and internationally.
They work with leading lighting designers, specifiers, and architects to illuminate and transform architectural features, spaces and environments using specification grade solutions.
Using only premium quality white light and RGB lighting fixtures and control solutions, my client offers a full service from conception, through specification to supply, integration, programming, and system commissioning.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
- Programming and commissioning lighting control systems
- Surveying and maintenance of existing lighting control installations
- Demonstration of lighting control systems to clients
- Supporting customers both on the telephone and on site when required
- Providing customer support in relation to new and updated products in the field
- Providing technical support to other employees of my client
- Maintaining the integrity of the company brand
- Assisting with the design of suitable controls solutions.
- Writing technical documentation
- Producing cable schedules and schematics
- Sourcing equipment and parts.
Qualifications and Requirements
The position of Technical Services Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer should have the following qualifications and skills.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science (not essential)
- Previous experience of programming lighting control
- Knowledge of lighting control protocols including DALI, DMX, 1-10v
- 3 - 5 years Electrical and construction site experience (not essential)
- 3-5 years hands-on Lighting/AV commissioning experience
- Knowledge in lighting controls, building management systems or computer networking is required.
- Strong problem solving/fault finding skills
- Ability to travel frequently
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, self-motivated
