Our client was founded in 1860 and has one of the largest packaging companies in the world and they are looking for a maintenance engineer in the Ledbury area. The company itself develops and produces flexible, cartons, closures, pharmaceutical, food & Beverage and other various packaging. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer to continue with their development and help with improvements of the companies packaging machinery.
Maintenance Engineer
Ledbury
£37,800 – rises to £41,000 after probation.
Shift pattern includes – 06:55 – 19:00/ 18:55 – 07:00 rotating. 12-hour shift pattern.
2 days on, 3 off, 2 nights on, 2 off, 3 days on, 2 off and so on.
Our client is offering a salary reflecting experience and OT when needed, with 20 days holiday plus bank, there is also a private pension of 8%, 6x life insurance and health care, bonus, cycle to work scheme, income protection, and host of other benefits to go with the role. The role will include progression long term.
Responsibilities include:
- The role requires the engineer to install, service, maintain, prevent, and repair the packaging machinery.
- You will have experience of replacing bolts, nuts, chains, pulleys, gear boxes, sprockets and have an understanding of dealing with either pneumatics or hydraulics. Basically, a good understanding of mechanical engineering.
- Ideally you will have some experience in replacing and repairing motors, drives, relays, pumps, cylinders, inverters and more.
- Having an understanding of single phase, three phase metres and an understanding of electrical & mechanical drawings would be advantageous.
- An understanding of general fault finding on machinery and how to resolve basic issues.
- Must be able to read mechanical or electrical diagrams/schematics and see issues with the machinery. From there you will be able to fix any lingering issues with the kit.
Essential:
- Strong customer service skills
- 2+ years’ experience in mechanical or electrical engineer.
- Ideally packaging experience is preferred, but other areas will be considered.
- A related qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar
- Having at least a level 3 qualification in engineering.
- Must be comfortable travelling to other areas when required.
- Must be looking to progress and ambition is key.
