My client is a well-established Mobile Elevating Work Platform manufacturer and one of the largest in Europe which supplies worldwide, to continue this they are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their growing team. Due to continued growth and work load they are looking for a Senior Buyer to join them and help continue this exciting growth period. As a Senior buyer you will be working closely with the Senior Commodity Manager and Head of Purchasing & Supply Chain to support commodity initiatives including creating and implementing cross functional strategies. Supplying over 40 companies worldwide and with over 400 employees across the UK they really are a fantastic place to work and professionally develop within a fast-paced environment.
Title – Senior Buyer
Location – Milton Keynes
Salary - £35,000 – 47,000 (DOE) plus additional package, including 25 days holiday, healthcare scheme, 5% pension contribution, Annual bonus, cycle to work scheme, free family events, free company lunches and more.
Working Monday – Friday (0800 - 1630)
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure the highest level of quality, delivery reliability and cost effectiveness are achieved.
- Continuous seeking of measurable performance improvement opportunities.
- Accountable for the successful delivery of key performance objectives including material cost reductions in projects both current and future.
- Managing of all risk management activities including supply contract agreements, designed to deliver a robust and sustainable supply base.
- Capacity and lead time analysis to ensure the current and future build requirements are achieved and protected by supply base.
- Managing a defied commodity and key suppliers, responsible for developing and maintain a competitive and reliable supply base that is capable of supporting all current production and new programme supply requirements.
- Creation and management of cross functional commodity sourcing strategies.
To apply you MUST have or hold:
- 5 years purchasing experience.
- Full understanding of MS Office software (excel spreadsheets).
- CIPS or equivalent qualification
- Experience of delivering against key metrics and business critical paths.
- MRP/ERP experience.
- Strong communications both verbal and written.
- Experienced in the supplier management sector including contract negotiations and supplier performance management.
