Description

A fantastic opportunity has come up for an Inventory Planner to work with one of the fastest growing corrugated packaging distributors in the UK. They have been established since the early 90’s and they now need someone to take responsibility for the supply and stock planning range of SKU’s and products.

Inventory Planner

£35,000 - £42,000

Beford

This role will suit an Inventory planner who has experience in packaging, FMCG, general manufacturing or an industrial background, with good geographical knowledge of the UK supply chains.

Responsibilities include:


  • Maintaining stock levels and purchasing goods at market rate.
  • Ensure replenishments arrive on schedule.
  • Managing planning of new products to the customer.
  • Preventing overstock situations
  • Working closely with the sales team to ensure that supplier demand is met.
  • Processing quotes and ensuring purchasing orders are on schedule.
  • Placing orders to ensure stock levels are at the correct levels and reducing costs when necessary.
  • Continue with the development of company products and continue establish a foot hold in the market.
  • Communicating with internal and external staff to ensure the smooth running of warehousing processes.

Essential:


  • Be comfortable taking orders over the phone from the customer and processing.
  • Supplying customers with any information/documents when required.
  • Be able to do purchase orders, quote, and manage stock levels.
  • Have previous experience in a inventory planner role ideally from a packaging. manufacturing or industrial background.
  • You must be quick to react to all situations and have good general knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft skills including excel and word.
  • CIPS qualification would be advantageous but not necessary.
  • 3+ years’ experience is preferred but other applicants are welcome to apply who exceed expectations.
