Position: Service Engineer
Location: Swindon
Industry: Packaging Machinery (specifically Thermoforming, Sachet Filling, and Pot Filling)
Salary: £38,000-£40,000 per annum, with overtime opportunities (OT – time & third), and an OTE (On-Target Earnings) of £55,000/£60,000.
Working Hours: 40 hrs plus 10 hours OT
Holidays: 25 days of annual leave.

Company Overview:
The client is a European Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in packaging machinery, particularly in thermoforming, sachet filling, pot filling, and bagging lines. Their machinery is primarily supplied to production environments in the food industry, with a focus on sectors such as fresh meat, dairy, yogurts, and proteins.
Role:
- Responsible for servicing and installing capital equipment food lines in the UK.
- Specialization in Thermoforming, pot filling, and bagging lines.
- Travel within the UK and Europe may be required.
- Involvement in wiring into servo motors.
- Providing efficient service visits to customers.
- Target market: Fresh meat, Dairy, Yogurts, Proteins, and Fresh Produce.
- Problem-solving on-site.
- Willingness to work away from home for approximately four days per month.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams.Good understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for fault finding.
- Experience with electrical schematics.
- Ability to wire and re-wire machinery.
- Good understanding of HMI (Human-Machine Interface) inputs and outputs.
- Mechanical understanding is also beneficial.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), Packaging, or Process Machinery.
- An electrical engineering qualification is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel and stay away from home as needed.
