Job Title: Service Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: UK Gloucester
Salary: £35,000 per annum (plus overtime outside of 38 hours)
OTE: £45,000
Pension: 11% Matched
Company Vehicle: Van or Car
OT Rate: Time & Half (door to door)
PRP Bonus: 2k
Company Overview:
Our client, a subsidiary of a larger group specializing in machinery for the FMCG sector, is a leading manufacturer of product inspection machines. These machines are integral to the operations of food, pharmaceutical, and FMCG production sites. With a strong presence in the UK market, they pride themselves on designing, building, and manufacturing their machines domestically. Currently, they have a team of 8+ service engineers operating nationwide.
Role Overview:
As a Service Engineer with an electrical bias, you will play a crucial role in the installation, breakdown, and repair of the existing portfolio of product inspection machines. The role will involve regular travel, with an expectation of 2 nights away per week. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate proficiency in working with PLCs, reading electrical diagrams, wiring and rewiring machinery, and understanding HMI inputs and outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, breakdown, and repair of product inspection machines within food, pharmaceutical, and FMCG production sites.
- Conduct regular maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Troubleshoot issues with PLCs, electrical systems, and HMI interfaces.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams to diagnose faults accurately.
- Efficiently wire and re-wire machinery as required during installation or repair.
- Liaise with clients to provide technical support and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working with packaging machinery, preferably product inspection machines. (ANY FMCG)
- Proficiency in PLC’s and fault-finding.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
- Experience in wiring and rewiring machinery.
- Understanding of HMI inputs and outputs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
