Production Manager

My client is a well-established Mobile Elevating Work Platform manufacturer and one of the largest in Europe which supplies worldwide, to continue this they are looking for a Production Manager to join their team. As the Production Manager you will be tasked with managing and developing personnel, facilities, layouts, systems and procedures ensuring safety, quality and cost efficient production across the Milton Keynes site. My client is currently Supplying over 40 companies worldwide and with over 400 employees across the UK.

£57,200 with OTE of £75,000 with OT and Bonus plus additional package, including 25 days holiday, healthcare scheme, 5% pension contribution, Annual bonus, cycle to work scheme, free family events, free company lunches and more.

Working Monday – Friday (0800 - 1630)

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Full management responsibility and accountability for compliance to the companies ISO14001 environmental requirements.
• Responsible for company’s ISO45001 HSE.
• Strategically structure, plan, implement and sustain a competitive production and manufacturing framework.
• Manage, implement, and sustain continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing techniques, tools, layouts across the production areas.
• Define and support containment and prevention of quality issues internally & externally to production.
• Utilise standardised problem resolution tools to pinpoint root cause and implement preventive actions.
• Achieve cost reduction in materials, consumables and components by assessing and reporting on design for manufacture.
• Collaborate and review with engineering design teams and suppliers to eliminate costs from component supply.
• Develop people and culture through continuous training that aligns with new methods and procedures.
• Lead and guide production team members in PM roles.
• Assist section managers in ensuring adherence to company HR policies and procedures.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

• 5 years’ experience in a fast paced Production Management role within an Engineering Manufacturing environment.
• Level 5 or above engineering qualification in manufacturing technical discipline.
• Excellent knowledge of kaizen/lean/six sigma.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process – assembly, machining and finishing systems.
• Leadership experience in Continuous Improvement/LEAN function in Automotive, Aerospace & Engineering.
• Understanding of costing models, standard costing methods.
• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Strong communication skills with all levels and man management skills
• Able to work to tight timescales and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Flexible on working hours to accommodate multi shift working areas.
• Self motivated and good organisational skills.
