Role: Finance Assistant

Overview

We are currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role with the opportunity for hybrid working on occasion. The ideal candidate will provide crucial support to ensure the smooth operation of the finance function of this growing and successful retail company.

Responsibilities

• Processing purchase ledger invoices, expenses, and credit notes
• Ensuring accuracy of coding of costs
• Preparing weekly and monthly supplier payment runs and posting of payments onto our ledgers in GBP and other currencies
• Reconciliation of supplier statements and resolution of discrepancies
• Credit control - proactively chasing customer payments just before due date and again if overdue
• Processing of allocation of sales receipts
• Regular reconciliation of bank accounts
• Processing sales invoices for trade customers on credit terms
• Dealing with customer, supplier, and showroom queries in a timely manner
• Processing monthly accruals and prepayments

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage, Quickbooks, or Xero
• At least 3 years' experience within an accounts environment
• Ideally AAT qualified, with a good understanding of current finance processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Disciplined and well-organized, pro-active planning
• Working knowledge of Shopify would be an advantage

Day-to-Day

This role will involve processing invoices, reconciliation of accounts, credit control, and handling customer and supplier queries. The successful candidate will work with a high degree of accuracy, solve queries, and support process improvement initiatives. There will be scope to grow the role and progress your career in line with the business growth.

Pay and Benefits

• Salary: £25,000-£32,000 per year, dependent on experience
