Senior Structural Engineer
Newcastle
£35,000 - £45,000 (Higher for most experienced Engineers)
Work from home 2 days per week, Manage a team of Junior Engineers, On-going Progression and training
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including commercial, retail, residential, and industrial buildings. As a senior member of the team, you will lead projects ranging from small-scale to £150 million, and provide guidance to junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead on projects of varying scales, providing structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
- Produce high quality technical reports including structural surveys, analysis, and design using software packages such as Tekla Structural Design and Fastrak Building Designer
- Lead and mentor junior members of the design team, providing guidance and support as needed
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, using your expertise in Eurocodes and other relevant codes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable structural solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and software utilization
- Proven experience in the use of Eurocodes and other relevant design codes
Day-to-day
- Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop efficient and cost-effective structural designs
- Conducting site visits and liaising with clients to understand project requirements
- Using your expertise in structural engineering to provide input into the planning and execution of projects
- Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and technological advancements to ensure the delivery of high-quality and innovative solutions
