Electrical Design Engineer

Salary - £30,000+ for 1-2 years experience and up to £60,000 basic salary for 3-5 years experience

Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in preparing outline schemes, technical reports, and detailed specifications for electrical engineering design projects. You will have the opportunity to engage in the entire project lifecycle, from initial design strategies to project completion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outline schemes, technical reports, sketch designs, and concept layouts
• Input into pre-qualification and selection of contractors, tendering procedures, and tender review
• Liaise with clients, professionals, contractors, suppliers, and other design team members
• Identify and meet the needs and expectations of clients
• Mentor and inspire younger colleagues and engineers

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in electrical engineering design, including power supplies, PV/EVC, lighting, and alarm systems
• 3-5 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment
• Fully conversant with IET Regulations, Building Regulations, BREEAM, and sustainable design principles
• Competent with electrical engineering calculations (Amtech/Trimble, Relux, etc)
• Experience with REVIT is desirable
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
• Ability to inspire, influence, and negotiate

Day-to-day

• Formulate initial design strategies in collaboration with clients
• Manage projects from inception through construction to project completion
• Engage directly with clients to ensure their needs are met
