Founded as a family business 25 years ago, we are dedicated to helping companies transport goods safely and efficiently. Today, we proudly stand as leaders in the material handling industry, recognised for our design, supply, and maintenance of material handling equipment throughout the UK. We are committed to delivering exceptional service to our partners.

With the expansion of our team, we are now seeking a Technical Parts Specialist to join us. This role is essential to our business as you will be the first point of contact for customer technical inquiries, diagnosing problems and researching issues. We are seeking a motivated self-starter who is eager to learn and possesses knowledge or experience in a parts department, particularly with electrical and mechanical products.

You will collaborate with various departments and establish relationships with engineers, supplier experts, internal supply chain teams, R&D, and sales to ensure effective communication on technical queries, product updates, and inventory management. This role provides opportunities for progression and the chance to enhance your technical knowledge.

Key skills & responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical queries, diagnosing problems or researching issues promptly.
  • Provide quotes for parts, follow up to secure orders, and identify and source obscure or special-order parts.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate availability and maintain engineer van stock for high first-fix rates
  • Handle warranty claims efficiently
  • Ensure parts manuals are updated and accessible for engineers, sales, and customers
  • Basic understanding of technical principles; ability to read parts manuals and identify necessary items
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical personnel and learn from them
  • Prepared to take on a fresh challenge and contribute to establishing efficient systems and processes
  • Qualification in Electrical / Mechanical field would be beneficial
  • Minimum of 1-2 years technical experience

In return

In return my client is offering a starting salary of up to £40,000 alongside 28 days’ holiday, flexible working hours, statutory sick pay, and a pension scheme working in a modern office with onsite parking. For the right person there are also various progression opportunities available.

If this role is of interest and you would like some more information, please send your most recent CV to jasmine@serlimited.com
