Description

My client is a UK leading provider of Hydraulic Systems, power units and a distributor of components. With a proven track record of using quality brands and providing outstanding engineering services they are looking to now add to their Sales team. Due to growth, they are looking for a Business Development Manager. This role requires you to have experience or knowledge of hydraulics both systems and components, with experience generating new business and growing existing accounts.

Business Development Manager

Workshop located in Wakefield – Client site visits will be required.

£40,000 - £45,000 (DOE), Bonus structure work additional £10,000, company car or car allowance, Monday – Friday, company pension, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, pension and life insurance

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Drive existing accounts to maximise potential revenue.
  • Provide support to directors.
  • Identify and develop a sales pipeline.
  • Implementation of all contracts and ensure a smooth transition.
  • Provide first class customer support.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers.
  • Monitor and control company’s sales performance and finances in accordance with budgets.
  • Perform market analysis and be aware of trends.
  • Attend exhibitions and networking events.
  • Manage commercial activities.
  • Monitor and schedule work in line with KIPs/SLAs.
  • Prepare reports and present when required.

To apply you MUST have or hold:


  • Hydraulic system knowledge.
  • Business Degree or equivalent.
  • M&E systems knowledge
  • Management experience in SME.
  • Previous BDM experience in similar role.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • IT Literate.
  • Able to make decisions and take responsibility.
  • Able to work alone and in a team to reach KPIs/SLAs.
