Salary: £35,000 - £38,000Are you a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for engineering innovation? We are a leading OEM specializing in special-purpose machinery for the food and packaging industry, and we’re looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic engineering team.
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design mechanical production machinery, with each project averaging £50,000 in value and lasting between 2 to 8 weeks. This role offers the opportunity to work on bespoke machinery solutions that play a critical role in our clients' operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design special-purpose machinery for the food and packaging industries using SolidWorks.
- Develop detailed 3D models, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee projects from concept to completion.
- Support manufacturing teams with design-related queries.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years of design experience in a relevant industry.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design and modeling.
- Experience working on capital equipment projects is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
