Description

Position – Mechanical Design Engineer

Location – Kelso

Salary/Package – 43,000 – 46,000k (Negotiable) 40 – Hour week, Remote/Office, flexible working week (4- or 5-day week) No weekends.

Client

Specializing in chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) technologies for water treatment, hygiene, and biosecurity.

Operating globally, the company produce simpler, easy-to-use chlorine dioxide products and systems. A range of chlorine dioxide generators and dosing systems, catering to various volumes and applications. We cover multiple sectors such as agriculture, drinking water treatment, food and drink processing, healthcare, industrial wastewater, and reverse osmosis systems.

Purpose of the role

You will play a crucial hands-on role in the design and manufacture of high-quality chlorine dioxide products and technologies for water treatment, hygiene, and biosecurity.

*We will consider a Mechanical Design Graduate that may have dipped their toe in the Water industry*

Responsibilities


  • Utilize 2D/3D CAD software to develop innovative engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop groundbreaking products.
  • Ensure projects meet technical specifications and standards.
  • Conduct computer simulations and experiments to refine designs.
  • Oversee the creation of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Document the design process and maintain records of materials and manufacturing drawings.

You must have or hold


  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • A passion for innovation and technology
  • Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience of design stock listing with MRP systems

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
