Business Development Manager
Location: Hybrid – St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + benefitsThe Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth by winning new service contracts and building long-term client relationships. Around 80% of your focus will be on recurring contract sales, with the remainder on project sales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching market trends and identifying new business opportunities
- Generating leads and developing relationships across public and private sectors
- Managing the full sales cycle: prospecting, proposals, negotiation, and closing
- Preparing tailored service solutions aligned with customer needs
- Maintaining and forecasting an accurate sales pipeline through CRM
- Tracking KPIs and reporting on performance
- Supporting site surveys, system design, and quotations where required
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth handover and contract mobilisation
About You
- Proven success in B2B sales, ideally within fire, security, or related industries
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to secure high-value contracts
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Confident in pipeline management, reporting, and CRM use
- Self-motivated, organised, and proactive
