As a Workshop Fitter, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery and equipment.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time spent.
- Collaborating with the wider team to ensure equipment is ready for operational use.
- Keeping the workshop clean, organized, and safe at all times.Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Workshop Fitter or in a similar mechanical role.
- Strong knowledge of plant machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.

Your typical day as a Workshop Fitter will involve:
- Inspecting and diagnosing equipment brought into the workshop.
- Performing repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure machinery is in optimal condition.
- Liaising with team members and supervisors to prioritize workloads.
- Ordering and managing spare parts and tools as required.
- Testing and commissioning equipment after repairs to ensure functionality.
- Adhering to company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.Benefits
