As a Plant Fitter, your key responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of plant machinery both in the workshop and on-site.
- Conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates at peak performance.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on machinery.
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
- Providing excellent customer service when working on-site with clients.
- Keeping accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of plant machinery, including diggers, excavators, dumpers, rollers, and telehandlers.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- A full UK driving license (essential for on-the-road work).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance or engineering (preferred but not essential).Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Spending part of your time in the workshop, conducting repairs and maintenance on machinery.
- Traveling to client sites to provide on-the-road support and repairs.
