This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient movement of goods across the business. The Company Driver & General Warehouse Assistant is responsible for transporting items safely and punctually, supporting day-to-day warehouse operations, and maintaining a clean, organised working environment.The position involves loading and unloading goods, managing inventory processes, and ensuring that all transport activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport goods-and staff when required-to designated locations.
- Carry out basic vehicle checks and maintenance; ensure vehicles remain clean and roadworthy.
- Maintain accurate travel logs, recording hours, routes, and delivery details.
- Follow all road laws, driving regulations, and company procedures at all times.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure efficient scheduling of deliveries and collections.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles; verify delivery accuracy and maintain supporting records.
- Accurately record incoming goods and update inventory systems.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
- Check goods for quality and report any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Comply with all Health & Safety requirements to support a safe working environment.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, tidy, and well-organised to support efficient operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a professional driver; previous logistics or warehouse experience is advantageous.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Confident using maps and GPS systems.
- Able to work collaboratively within a warehouse environment.
