Salary 45 – 50k DOE plus benefits + Overtime

An established national logistics and transport business is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join its busy in-house workshop. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern fleet maintenance operation, carrying out servicing, repairs and inspections to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and operational.
Working as part of a professional workshop team, you'll play a key role in maximising fleet availability and minimising vehicle downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults efficiently.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure all work meets DVSA and legal compliance standards.
- Respond to reported vehicle defects, carrying out repairs to keep the fleet roadworthy.
- Complete all workshop documentation and maintenance records accurately.
- Work closely with the transport operation to minimise downtime and maximise vehicle availability.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health & safety and workshop practices.
- Assist with breakdown diagnosis and repair when required.
About You
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across HGVs and trailers.
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations, vehicle maintenance and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience with tail lifts, refrigerated vehicles or trailer repairs would be advantageous.
- Class 1 (Category C+E) licence is desirable but not essential.
