Service Supervisor
Fire & Security
Midlands
£33,000 - £37,000 DOE.
8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Company vehicle, Fuel Card, Bonus Scheme, Overtime, 24 days holiday plus bank holiday.
Established circa 20 years, we are a fully Gent, BAFE approved, privately owned Fire & Security company based in the Midlands. Specialising in installation and maintenance, we provide expert advice and deliver exceptional customer service to our long-enduring customers. We are looking for a Service Supervisor to join our team of 50 plus employees, with the knowledge of both Fire & Security.
The role:
- To ensure all national service visits are carried out on time and report all services overdue to the Service Manager monthly.
- Monitor service engineer’s areas to ensure they are divided in an efficient manner and each engineer is issued with an achievable number of service contracts.
- If service visits fall behind more than a month, it is your responsibility to liaise with the Service Manager and agree a method that will ensure visits are brought back into line with agreed schedule and in agreed timeframe.
- Evaluate and where needed, provide training to the service team. Whether that be manufacturer or hands on training,
- May be required to assist the service engineers to complete service tasks, or remedial repairs. This is more to provide support and instruction, rather than carrying out the actual work.
- Ad hoc toolbox talks for engineers to be conducted when required.
- Working alongside the Service Manager to ensure that each member of the service team achieves their target, both in parts and revenue.
- Where required, meeting with customers to discuss any issues they may have and if possible, try to resolve these issues. If necessary, the supervisor will discuss these with the service manager.
- Complete your own outlook diary in line with all non-office-based management personnel.
- Work with the service administrators to ensure calls and other works are distributed fairly and evenly amongst the engineers.
- Carryout audits/checks of service engineers and sub-contractor work, providing guidance and training to engineers where required.
- If issues arise of an emergency nature, you may be asked to provide support or assist to resolve the issue to a satisfactory conclusion.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent industry knowledge.
- Efficient in providing input and support to an existing team.
- Able to create and execute training plans for engineers and update progression.
- Clear precise communication skills.
- Organised and controlled.
- Open to learning new skills.
- IT literature.
- Capable of making sound commercial decisions.
- System knowledge of Gent, Ziton, Advanced, Kentec, Galaxy, Hikvision, Paxton, Gas suppression – Desirable NOT essential.
