The company has seen significant growth over the past few years, now more than twice the size with over 70 employees.
About the Role
My client requires a competent Quality Manager that has the knowledge and experience to implement, maintain and improve a QMS (ISO9001) and an EMS (ISO14001) in a componentry manufacturing environment to ensure compliance. They are looking for a competent and experienced Quality Manager to initially play a major role in the implementation of ISO9001 and ISO14001. On accreditation the role will then focus on maintaining the systems in order to ensure compliance on a day-to-day basis, as well as to ensure the certificates are retained through the required surveillance audits. The position will require a step change in terms of how products are produced and taken care of in the after sales environment, ensuring that we are exceeding customer expectations in terms of the quality of our products.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the ISO9001 QMS.
- Implement and maintain the ISO14001 EMS.
- Conduct system audits in line with ISO9001/ISO14001 requirements as defined in their QMS/EMS.
- Conduct process audits in line with ISO9001 requirements as defined in their QMS system.
- Implement and maintain the measuring system – calibration of measuring equipment.
- Implementation of SPC where it will be most beneficial.
- Ensue quality gateways are in place to ensure product quality standards are maintained and improved.
- Proficient in corrective action systems. Manage and control the organisations corrective action system.
- Proficient in problem solving techniques.
- Head up certification audits.
- Establish and maintain all documents required in line with ISO9001 and ISO14001.
- Manage and control the QMS procedures and EMS procedures, with all related requirements.
- Manage and control the quality policy in line with ISO9001 standards and requirements.
- Manage and control the environmental policy in line with ISO14001 standards and requirements.
- Internal and External deviation process from cradle to grave.
- Enforcement of quality and environmental standards within the organisation.
- Enforcement of product quality in line with the defined product standards.
- Maintain and improve product quality standards.
- Ensure sufficient control and measures are in place at receiving inspection to ensure supplied products are at the correct standard.
- Feedback to suppliers on quality issues ensuring corrective actions are raised, followed up and closed out.
- Responsible for the documentation control system.
- Responsible for the supplier quality and supplier development programmes.
- Ensure a proper supplier quality measurement system is in place, ensuring corrective action improvements.
- Ensure a proper customer returns process and measuring system is in place ensuring continuous improvement.
- Responsible for all aspects of ensuring a proper EMS/QMS is in place at the highest standard.

Requirements
- Certificate to show training completion in ISO9001.
- Certificate to show training completion in ISO14001.
- Proven track record of quality control in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Knowledge and proven track record of implementing a QMS in ISO9001 and EMS in ISO14001.
- A Quality Management related qualification would be an advantage.
- Demonstrate your ability and drive to continually develop the system to be better.
- Discipline to stick to procedures and propose amendments to procedures where improvements are seen, to ensure a continuous improvement culture.
