Maintenance Engineer
£35,000 - £45,000 plus OT
Preston
6-2/2-10/10-6 shift pattern,
Our client is offering a salary reflecting experience with Overtime which could earn you up to £50 - 60k plus, 5% Pension, death in service 3x salary, bonus scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank, friday night shift reduced hours or the day off, and sick pay scheme,
My client is a privately owned distributor of Consumer Packaging, Industrial Packaging and Engineered Materials packaging to the food & beverage, personal care, automotive, agriculture and alcohol markets. They require an engineer that is happy to be involved in a mixture of installations, breakdowns, and PPM work on packaging & extrusion machinery.
Responsibilities include
- Dealing with a great number of electrical issues with machinery
- Be able to read electrical diagrams to re wire and wire, deal with repair and replace single phase and three phase motors.
- You will effectively lead and service and repair the machinery equipment & assets.
- You will be required to work on some mechanical issues including hydraulics and pneumatics work,
- Have experience replacing and repairing invertors, relays, AC & DC 3 phase motor Drives.
- Commissioning of new machinery, Breakdowns, service & installation
- You will be able to read as well as understand electrical diagrams and schematics, dealing with any electrical circuits, wiring or re wiring.
- Understanding and dealing with the replacement of ethernet cables and dealing with 415vlt machinery.
Essential:
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be comfortable with big machinery.
- Experience of packaging, fmcg, industrial or another manufacturing industry.
- Must be able to understand electrical diagrams, deal with single phase and three phase motors
- Have a good understanding of invertors, relays, and fault finding
- Strong Electrical background with mechanical experience.
- A related qualification in mechanical engineering or similar
- City & Guilds experience is welcome
Note - Electricians who want to learn mechanical engineering can also apply. There will be options to take on extra qualifications for engineers who apply themselves.
