Field Service Engineer
St Albans, London
£40,000 - £45,000 Basic
25 days holidays plus bank holidays, company pension matched to 3%. Company vehicle, laptop, phone, fuel card.
My client is an audio-visual consultancy who are now looking for an experienced support individual with technical knowledge of the industry to join the team. They specialise in a wide range of small to large exiting projects across the UK. Due to planned growth, they require a Field Service Engineer.
The role:
- To carry out preventative maintenance to installed and free issue equipment to contract and non-contract customers to the highest standards.
- To provide reactive maintenance to customers experiencing issues with the equipment under a service agreement and ensure all issues are logged and processed through the ZenDesk System.
- Repair of equipment/cabling etc. in situ in order to resolve issue
- Engineer a temporary solution to allow as much functionality as possible if item of equipment is not working and has to be removed for repair.
- Arrange for faulty equipment to be removed, temporary replacement equipment to be installed. Process is reversed when faulty item has been repaired.
- To answer the dedicated service helpdesk number when required and provide such assistance to client queries as required including technical support.
- To providing online support using remote tools if network access is granted by the client
- To prepare equipment for repair by third party companies under RMA’s and / or under warranty.
- To action issues raised on preventative maintenance visit reports and visit log sheets.
- Adherence to all company and client related H&S processes.
- To arrange for the order of any spares / parts that may be required to complete service or maintenance work.
- To liaise with customers to update them on progress of any repair work.
- To complete all reports required for service, maintenance or preventative maintenance work carried out under contract or through an emergency call-out or non-contractual arrangement.
- To arrange reactive and preventative maintenance visits with customers if required.
- To compile equipment lists for rooms under maintenance agreement
- Ensuring any vehicle used is safe, roadworthy, fit for purpose and contents secure with valid, current MOT certificate.
- To contribute to the efficient working of the Service Department and other areas where required.

Experience and skills required:
- Engineering Knowledge
- Electronic Fault-Finding Skills
- Crestron Programming (ideal, not essential)
- DSP Programming (ideal, not essential)
- LED and videowall processors (ideal, not essential)
- Knowledge of MS Windows
- Current and Clean Driving License
- Proficient IT skills
- Good administrative skills
- Good telephone manner
In return:
