Job Role: Product Design Engineer
Based: Enfield, London

With offices in London and New York and supported by a specialist distributor and agency network in over 40 countries worldwide, my client has established itself as one of the foremost performance
architectural lighting manufacturers in the World.
They currently require a well organised, and technically minded Product Design Engineer, with a
background in a Product Design or Engineering discipline, to join their Design team at their Enfield
office.
The Product Design Engineer will have experience in Lighting, and can create technical documents, including Engineering Drawings in Solidworks, and Product Specification Sheets and
Installation Instructions using Adobe Creative Suite.
Role and Responsibilities
- Report to the Design and Technical Manager at the Lucent Lighting offices in Enfield.
- Work on concept developments, from the initial brief through to manufacture, on multiple projects.
- Clearly present product ideas to relevant team members for brainstorming sessions and signoff.
- Create and amend existing parts and drawings to suit different design specifications.
- Liaise with our local manufacturing partners to produce products on time and on budget.
- Produce assembly drawings for the in-house assembly teams.
- Ensure Product Technical Files are completed, ready for submittal towards relevant certifications.
- Support the release of new products by producing specification sheets, installation guides and online content.
- Process environmental declarations for products when required.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Degree in either a Product Design or Engineering discipline.
- 5 years of experience working as a designer in the Lighting industry is essential.
- Experience in manufacturing methods and techniques, including Diecasting, Injection Moulding, Extrusions and Sheetmetal Fabrication.
- Work well under instruction within a Design team, communicating effectively at each design phase.
- Great project management skills.
- Fluent with SolidWorks, Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite.
