£20,000 - £38,000 + O/T paid door to door on anything before 8am and after 4pm + Company van + 32 days holiday + fuel card + company credit card + meal allowance + choice of hotel
My client are a machine tool manufacturer and service provider located in the heart of Scotland looking to take on a skilled machine tool service engineer to expand their growing team. They service an impressive client base of blue chip and SME companies within the automotive and aerospace industry and are anticipating expanding this further with some exciting upcoming projects. Within Scotland they are renowned for the precision and skill of their service team and their fantastic training programme to upskill engineers on the Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled service engineer to work for a company willing to invest in their continued development. They are also open to training a time served apprentice with the right attitude looking to progress their career.
The Role:
- You will predominantly provide break down support on their machines throughout Scotland and the North.
- Carrying out the annual servicing on their impressive portfolio of machines.
- Commissioning and re-commissioning and de-commissioning machines.
- Developing within the continuous training and support programme across a series of disciplines ranging from lathes, machining centres and electrical controls.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic fault finding
- Realigning CNC machining centres and lathes
- Installing ball screws
- Replacing spindles
- Reading electrical wiring diagrams
- Diagnosing machine faults via PLC diagnostics
- Order parts and equivalent parts from OEM and third-party supplier.
- Renishaw ball bar testing
- Submitting paperwork in a timely manner
The Requirements:
- Time served appropriate apprenticeships are desirable.
- Consistent experience within the machine tool industry as a service engineer
- Electrical, mechanical and multi-skilled engineer’s welcome
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and providing customers with the highest level of customer and machine service.
- Flexibility to overnight stays estimated at 7 nights per month but can be less.
- Fanuc experience is highly desirable, Siemens and Heidenhain experience is also welcomed.
