Description

My client is a worldwide leader in firefighting technology. With customers in over 100 countries spread across a wide variety of sectors with a first-class distribution process. The unique ability to offer technical expertise enables them to produce industry firsts.

Due to an exciting period of growth within the business, my client is looking to add experienced shift supervisors to their manufacturing team within their hose factory. These supervisors will be tasked with overseeing the day to day running of the hose shift on their specific team within the business.

Shift Supervisor

Location - Bentham
Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 (Depending on Experience), 25 days plus Bank Holidays, Company pension, life insurance.

(Working 37.5 hours per week with shifts 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm Mon - Thursday & Friday 6am-11.30am / 11.30am-5pm)

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Supervise and provide direction to staff based on priorities.
  • Communicate with the factory manager.
  • Supervise all hose manufacturing activities for an assigned shift.
  • Perform data collection and provide metrics and report when required.
  • Hire, train, and mentor staff.
  • Liaise with various departments internally to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly.
  • Lead specific improvement projects.
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff.
  • Ensure HSE standards are met and always followed.
  • Develop, improve, and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Lead, engage and motivate the team to work to a high level.
  • Meet and exceed specific targets set.

To apply you MUST have or hold:


  • A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 QMS and ISO14000 EMS would be beneficial.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Certification of supervisory management is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent decision making skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
  • ILM and NEBOSH certification is beneficial.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
