Design Draughtsperson

Location: West Bromwich

£30,000 - £32,000 plus private pension, employee assistance program and 25 days holiday excluding statutory days

We are a leading wastewater treatment company who are well known for our excellent reputation and exceptional customer service.

Based in the Midlands we have been established for a number of years and are a medium sized company with plans for growth.

Due to continued success, we are looking for an experienced Design Draughtsperson to join our growing and professional team.

Purpose of the role:

Perform engineering work to support sales orders, product improvement projects, technical support and/or engineering analysis.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Review all applicable job data and specifications to determine characteristics of order and establishing engineering objectives under the general direction of the Design Engineer or Design Manager
• Generating design, general arrangement and other submittal drawings within estimated hours and timescales
• Preparing and updating layouts, details drawings, calculations, specifications and documenting instructions necessary for project success
• Produce 2D or 3D CAD drawings for equipment, civil work layouts and mechanical design details to spec
• Review of detail drawings and bills of materials during and prior to being issued for manufacture

To apply you MUST have or hold:

• ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Working experience of equipment/product design or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Knowledge of Draughting standards for both structural and mechanical design
• Competent with MS Office (Word/Excel), AutoCAD and 3D Inventor
• Have the ability to read and understand specification, fabrication, erection and standard engineering drawings
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication and assembly techniques
• Full UK driving licence
• Based within a commutable distance of West Bromwich
