My client is a leader in the design and manufacture of carton board packaging, with year upon year growth working with businesses local and high-end national businesses. They are well recognised for their specialism within the industry, employing 40+ staff across 1 site my client is looking for a Buyer to join a successful business.

Buyer
Location - Crewe
Salary - £35,000 – 40,000 (DOE) plus additional package, including 26 days holiday + bank, 4% pension contribution, annual bonus, free parking, excellent opportunity to progress.

Working Monday – Thursday (8:30 – 17:00)

Friday (8:00 – 13:30)

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Managing all risk assessment activities, including supply contract agreements, designed to deliver a strong supply base.
• Supply base management, relationship building and issue resolution.
• Provide support to design, manufacturing, and quality departments to investigate and implement new components, and packaging innovations.
• Drive and lead all cost disciplines across the company through supplier engagement, hidden cost initiatives and design to cost.
• Develop and maintain a competitive and reliable supply base which will support productions both new and future.
• Drive cost reduction activities.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

• Experienced in delivering key metrics and business critical paths.
• An understanding of solidboard
• Have a good understanding of the UK packaging market.
• Full understanding of MS Office software (excel spreadsheets)
• Strong communications both verbal and written.
• Experienced in the supplier management sector including contract negotiations and supplier performance management.
