Out client is a major competitor in the food machinery packaging industry and has been established since 1942 and has around 1000 employees worldwide with a turnover of around £100 million. The main side of their business provides quality metal detector and separation machines into the industrial sector; this consists of mining, agricultural and recycling industries. They are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team of sales professionals to cover the Midlands/North UK region.

£40,000 to £48,000, DOE, plus benefits package

Our client is offering a salary reflecting experience with a car allowance £500, bonus scheme, 26 days holiday plus bank (rises to 27), health care, 4% Pension, laptop and phone.
They are now actively looking to recruit a Business Development Manager because they are bringing out a new innovative line of metal detection and separation machines. This role will require the business development manager to be on the road to prospect new clients, but also to nurture and develop a small portfolio of customers.
Your day-to-day duties will be based around business development creating new opportunities for the company to increase their clientele. Your role includes dealing with new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, services prospection, negotiation and commercial follow up of UK customers and branching out further afield acting in the markets targeted by the organisation. You will play an active part in the development of the sales budget, monitor revenue and margins, promote the image of the company and you will continue with the improvement of the initiatives of the company.
They are looking to recruit the successful candidate immediately; however, you must have or hold:
- A minimum of 3-6 years+ experience in the packaging machinery industry, however consumables will be considered if you have a strong sales background.
- Have a great understanding of the UK market.
- You must be happy developing new business opportunities and building on your successes.
- A sense of business relationships and customer service
- High interest in the technical dimension of the products
- Strong communication and negotiating skills.
Note - You must come from a packaging background and have experience in sales.
