Field Engineer/ Service Engineer – CNC , Machine tools.

£35,000 - £45,000 DOE + Hybrid company vehicle + Overtime (1 1/3rd weekdays, 1.5x sat, 2x Sunday)

I am representing a fantastic machine tool agent in their hiring search for a multi-skilled machine tool service or field engineer. Their offering to the market focuses predominantly on the larger scale machine tools representing brands such as the Shibaura and Gruppo Parpas machines.

This is an exciting opportunity to expand your skillset working with a variety of milling, turning, grinding and gantry equipment under the mentorship of their highly experienced team. The Role:

• You will provide coverage to their client list nationwide, occasionally providing service and support to Northern and Southern Ireland.


• You will be involved in the commissioning and decommissioning of machine tools, refurbishment and re-building, servicing and responding to breakdowns.


• You will specialise your skillset on the Shibaura, Gruppo Parpas, Toyoda, Takumi machines.


• You will gain exposure to a variety of machine tools within the metal cutting machine tool sector, working on a range of milling, turning, grinding and gantry.


• You will report directly into the service manager to receive your scheduling on a weekly and daily basis.


• The workload will be predominantly mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, performing geometric realignment, fitting spindles, refurbishments, and ball bearing changes.


• Electrical fault finding.


• Fault finding on Predominantly Fanuc and Heidenhain controls, with some Siemens 840d.


• Occasional weekend work will be required to travel to sites in the evening ready for the next day of work.


• Overnight stays are estimated at 5 times a month as a maximum, this can be as a week away once a month, or around a night away a week as the workload varies dependent on customer needs.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a field or service engineer in the machine tool industry is required. Candidates from maintenance backgrounds are also welcomed but must be comfortable with travel and overnight stays.


• Engineers must be multi-skilled – both mechanical and electrical


• Conversant in a machine tool control from Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens.


• A full clean driving license is an essential.


• The Right to work in the UK.
