CNC Miller and Turner Machinist
£14 - £15 per hour – Flexible working hours (37 hour working week) + Contributory pension scheme + private medical insurance + 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays.
My client, an established British Machine tool OEM are recruiting for a skilled Miller and Turner to join them in their modern facility in Elland. They take great pride in their retention of staff on the shop floor and ensure the working conditions are clean and safe for their employees. Due to succession planning, there is the potential for the right candidate to progress into management positions within the next few years. The successful candidate will have several years’ experience with CNC milling and turning of metals, experience with steels would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities:
You will report directly to the Machine Shop Team leader.
- You will set up the materials and load onto the CNC machine and then operate.
- Machines will include multi-axis CNC Turning centre and CNC Vertical Machining Centre.
- Manufacture components to supplied CAD files and drawings.
- Use fixtures and gauging as required.
- You will be required to self-inspect your work using a range of inspection equipment.
- You will receive training from an induvial platform.
- Observe and manage the 5s principles.
- Work within health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and clean working space.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
- Check for oil, grease and coolant.
- Create CNC programmes using Manual guide I or similar.
- Utilise your skills of Fanuc and Heidenhain programming (MillPwr).
- You will operate milling and turning machines.
- Maintain delivery of quality projects to scheduled.
Requirements:
- Communicate confidently at all levels.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with CNC milling and turning machines
- Create CNC programme at the machine using manual guide or similar.
- Full understanding of machining processes
- Good knowledge of tooling would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Heidenhain MillPwr Control would be an advantage.
