My client is a UK leading provider of Hydraulic Systems, power units and a distributor of components. With a proven track record of using quality brands and providing outstanding engineering services they are looking to now add to their Design team. Due to growth, they are looking for an experienced Senior Hydraulic Design Engineer to join them. This role requires you to have extensive hydraulic/industrial engineering background and is an integral part of the business.
Senior Hydraulic Design Engineer
Location: Wakefield – With flexibility of Hybrid for the right candidate.
£38,000 - £43,000 (DOE), Monday – Friday, company pension, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, extensive employee benefits package, free onsite parking and career progression support through training and certification.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Client facing role working closely with various departments.
- Develop and design hydraulic systems and components. Including but not limited to HPUs, control manifolds, cylinders and bespoke customer requested products.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers and stakeholders to integrate hydraulic systems into projects smoothly.
- Provide technical support to teams within the company.
- Develop costing estimates and quotations for hydraulic products.
- Creating “Bill of Materials” by taking specifications and developing schematics, specifying products and selecting them.
To apply you MUST have or hold:
- Minimal 5 years engineering/manufacturing experience.
- Degree/HND qualification in engineering/manufacturing.
- Able to read and understand technical engineering drawings using 2D and 3D designs.
- Understanding of drawings both assembly and configuration.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics – pumps, valves, actuators and their engineering principles (constraints, tolerances, materials).
- Be able to work from hydraulic schematics.
- Knowledge of electrohydraulic/electromechanical systems is a benefit.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
