Simonstone
£10.84 - £17.06 per hour + Shift allowance (£4.20 - £5.61) + company pension scheme + average holiday pay + retirement gratuity + Hundred club monthly draw + enhanced sickness benefit.
My client is a well-established world leader in the design and manufacture of valves and fittings for transportable tanks. They are witnessing a period of growth due to an increased demand on their services and are looking to take on several assembly operatives within their nuclear department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled assembly operative to elevate their career with an award-winning business committed to innovation.
Shift: Twilight: Monday to Thursday 4pm – 12am Friday 12pm – 6pm
Nights: Mon to Thursday 9:30pm – 7am
The role
- Prepare work to be accompanied by studying assembly drawings, bills of materials, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
- Assemble components to drawing requirements & verify conformity. • Pressure testing and functional testing of assembled components
- Prepare finished parts for shipping to customer.
- Prepare child parts for assembly, including but not limited to Polishing, local de-burring, cleaning and packaging.
- Analyse and resolve assembly problems by notifying Quality.
- Using standardised techniques, tools and practices and contributing to the product/continual process improvement effort.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms. • Use computers in order to extract data.
- Contribute to a team working environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement.
- Conduct testing in accordance with procedure and drawing/design intent.
- Precision finishing of piece parts & assemblies
Requirements:
- You must be a British national to apply for this role.
- A minimum of 3 years assembly experience
- An ability to read and interpret drawings.
- A methodical approach with the ability to make decisions based on experience’.
- Experience in lean manufacturing principles
- Quality oriented with an understanding of the 5s principles.
