Position - Engineering Manager
Department: Heating Services / Engineering Division
Location - Elgin
Salary: £37,500 – £46,000, Office based/40-hour, 30 days holiday, up to 7.5% Pension, & more
Client
A provider of fuel distribution and heating services, serving domestic, agricultural, commercial, and marine sectors.
As our heating division grows, we are looking for a dynamic Heating & Engineering Manager to lead technical operations and field teams.
Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage the heating and engineering services, ensuring high standards of installation, maintenance, and servicing of heating systems across residential and commercial sectors.
The role combines operational oversight, technical leadership, compliance management, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of all heating system installations, maintenance, and servicing operations.
- Develop and enforce engineering and safety standards in line with Gas Safe, OFTEC, and other regulations.
- Manage complex fault diagnosis and escalate technical support for field engineers.
- Ensure accurate job planning, materials sourcing, and cost control.
- Manage a team of engineers and technical staff (oil, gas, and potentially renewable engineers).
- Provide mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement training/upskilling programs.
- Support senior leadership with planning, budgeting, and strategic input for service growth.
- Prepare reports on KPIs, job completion rates, customer satisfaction, and compliance.
- Work closely with scheduling, customer service, and parts procurement teams.
Must have or hold
- Relevant heating/engineering qualifications or a solid understanding and knowledge
- A leadership or managerial role within a technical services environment.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
- Clear, professional communication skills (verbal and written).
