Project Design Engineer - Architectural Lighting (Junior to Mid-Level)
Location: North London
Type: Full-time, PermanentAn innovative architectural lighting manufacturer is seeking a junior to mid-level Project Design Engineer to join their team in North London. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside project management and product development professionals on high-profile architectural projects across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge LED lighting systems.Essential Skills:
Methodical and organised design approach with a keen eye for detail
Strong visual design awareness
Understanding of sustainable production methods
Commercially minded with an awareness of project costs and efficiencies
Effective communicator, able to liaise with in-house assembly teams, suppliers, subcontractors, lighting designers, and specifiers
Interest in design automation and AI in engineering is a plus
Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD, with hands-on experience
Experience & Knowledge:
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Design, development, production, testing, and installation of LED architectural lighting systems (knowledge of electronics and software for LED control is advantageous)
OR
Design and development of professional electronic equipment
Experience with low to medium volume batch production
Familiarity with mechanical production processes for plastics and metals, including rapid prototyping and finishing techniques
On-site experience working with contractors to resolve installation challenges is beneficial
Previous experience specifically within LED lighting system design and development is preferred but not essential-comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.
