Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Junior Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in plant machinery maintenance and repair. You will work on a variety of equipment, including excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, loading shovels, skid steers (up to 8 tons), and attachments. Responsibilities


  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, loading shovels, skid steers, and attachments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Perform inspections to identify potential faults and recommend preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work carried out.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of tasks and minimal downtime for equipment.

Qualifications


  • Previous experience or training in plant machinery maintenance is desirable but not essential.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Full UK driving license is preferred.

Day-to-Day


  • Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of plant machinery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and any challenges encountered.
