Position – Fabric Technician
Location – Preston, to work the Northwest
Salary/Package – £26,000 - £30,000, Van/Fuel Card, PPE & Tools, available OT paid at Double Time, Call out – 1in 6, 32 days holiday inc Banks.
Client
A fast-growing building and facilities maintenance contractor, located in the Preston area. Providing electrical, mechanical, and building services to commercial and public sector clients across the UK, with a strong reputation in the Mental Health/Healthcare sector.
Purpose of the role
To complete tasks in relation to building maintenance (both reactive and planned) as well as refurbishment work on commercial buildings in accordance with specifications, building regs and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- All round knowledge and experience of undertaking general building / maintenance tasks.
- To ensure all relevant paperwork is completed to assist in all processes, e.g. Time Sheets, Job Logic, relevant forms to support company-wide processes.
- To support the Facilities Management Team to ensure compliance with all regulations and legislative responsibilities associated with customer sites.
- To ensure health & safety checks including fire alarm testing, legionella flushing, emergency light testing, and site safety/security checks are carried out regularly at customer sites, maintaining the safety and welfare of members of the public and staff.
- Dealing with fabric works such as basic plumbing, basic carpentry, painting and decorating, floor and ceiling tiles etc
- To carry out repairs, maintenance, improvement works and inspections to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises.
- To act as a contact for Contractors attending sites, ensuring they are fully aware of the customer’s attendance procedures, that they will follow full H&S procedures/risk assessments and permits to work are issued/reviewed where required. To ensure keys, access cards and access codes/fobs are signed out and recovered according to procedures, to maintain security of buildings.
Must have or hold
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Level 2 Building Maintenance Qualification preferred but not essential
- Experience in commercial building services maintenance
