Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Melton Mowbray (Commutable Distance)
£35,000 - £40,000 plus discount offerings, cycle to work scheme, private pension, access to a mental health support network and life assuranceAbout the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team. Based within a commutable distance of Melton Mowbray, this role offers a mix of both static and mobile work, giving you the chance to develop a wide range of skills and experience across different environments.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is technically minded, eager to develop, and open to learning new skills – particularly within pipework installation and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out mechanical fitting, assembly, installation and maintenance of equipment (pumps, valves etc.).
- Supporting projects both on-site (workshop) and across customer locations (mobile).
- Working with precision tools, machinery, and various materials.
- Learning and assisting with pipework installation and associated systems.
- Following health & safety standards and company procedures.
- Delivering high-quality workmanship with attention to detail.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar mechanical engineering role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and maintenance practices.
- Willingness to learn and develop pipework skills (full training provided).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to travel locally when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Forklift Licence would be an advantage.
- Able to read and interpret process drawings.
