Project Engineer – £60,000 - North West London – MSP
A leading MSP is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their growing Professional Services team. This is a hands-on technical role delivering a wide range of infrastructure, cloud and migration projects for UK and global clients.
The Role
You’ll work as part of the Project Delivery team to scope, design and implement technical solutions across modern Microsoft, cloud and virtualisation platforms. Expect variety — from Azure migrations and Microsoft 365 deployments to networking, backup, DR, and server infrastructure work. You’ll also support pre-sales, contribute to technical standards, mentor junior engineers and ensure high-quality documentation and handovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full lifecycle project work: design, build, testing, documentation & handover
- Act as a technical lead across server, cloud, networking and security projects
- Support pre-sales with technical proposals and solution validation
- Provide updates to Project Managers and stakeholders
- Produce high-quality documentation, designs and guides
- Perform audits and contribute to technical improvement initiatives
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues
- Maintain accreditations and stay up to date on product roadmaps
Technical Experience Required
- Strong VMware (VCP preferred)
- Azure & Microsoft 365 migrations and security (Intune, AIP, MFA, Compliance)
- Full Microsoft stack (Server 2008–2022, AD, DNS, DHCP, SQL)
- Networking: routing, VPNs, firewalls, hardware installs
- Backup, DR and recovery technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Desirable Skills
- AWS / Google Cloud
- VDI / AVD / Citrix
- Storage (SAN/NAS), PowerShell scripting
- CCNA / Network+
- Automation tools (Ansible, Puppet etc.)
- Cloud telephony (Teams, 3CX)
- Linux knowledge
