Role Purpose
The Quality Manager leads the Quality & Continuous Improvement function, ensuring that raw
materials, products, and services meet technical specifications, perform reliably, and comply with all relevant internal and external standards, regulations, certifications, and customer expectations.
The role is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS),
achieving ISO9001 and other relevant accreditations, driving continuous improvement across the organisation, and resolving product quality issues throughout the full product lifecycle. The role also provides leadership for escalated customer quality concerns and supports commercial decision-making related to product performance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Standards & Compliance
- Identify all relevant international quality standards and ensure business-wide compliance.
- Maintain and optimise a robust, global Quality Management System.
- Oversee successful completion of internal, external, regulatory, and ITW-mandated audits.
- Stay updated on regulatory and quality legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
Quality Processes & Improvements
- Lead projects to develop, improve, or optimise quality processes and procedures.
- Act as internal quality auditor, providing practical and actionable recommendations.
- Ensure all critical business processes are documented and adhered to globally.
Customer Quality & Escalations
- Oversee product support investigations for customer escalations.
- Make informed commercial decisions regarding resolution strategies and zero-value orders.
- Track and analyse warranty data and recurring product defects, recommending corrective actions.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop the Quality Improvement and Corrective Action team.
- Ensure team productivity, clear prioritisation, and efficient resource utilisation.
Position Requirements
Essential
- Significant experience in a quality management role within a capital equipment manufacturing
- environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience implementing, maintaining, and optimising quality systems (e.g., ISO9001).
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions based on complex analysis.
- Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading and managing teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
