About the Role
We are recruiting a Business Development Manager for a well-established UK fire and security solutions provider with 20+ years' industry experience, serving a wide range of commercial, industrial and public-sector clients. The business delivers tailored fire protection and security systems - including design, installation, monitoring and maintenance - to help clients protect their people, property and operations.
In this role you will focus on developing new business and expanding existing accounts across Manchester and Yorkshire (South & West). A core part of the role is selling maintenance contracts alongside system solutions, helping ensure clients receive ongoing support and compliance.
You will play a key part in achieving growth targets by managing the full sales journey, nurturing relationships and delivering tailored solutions that meet clients' fire and security needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, target and secure new business across Manchester & Yorkshire (South & West).
- Develop and grow existing accounts to maximise long-term revenue, especially maintenance contracts.
- Promote the company's range of fire and security solutions - including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, monitoring and integrated systems.
- Build trusted relationships with commercial, industrial and public-sector clients.
- Manage the full sales cycle - from initial enquiry and site survey to quotation and handover to service/operations teams.
- Collaborate with internal design, installation and service teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.
- Maintain accurate CRM data and pipeline reporting.
- Educate clients on compliance, ongoing maintenance and monitoring services.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in fire and security sales, business development or account management.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire protection and security systems, with the ability to discuss solutions confidently.
- Experience selling maintenance, monitoring or service contracts (desirable).
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Self-driven, organised and capable of working autonomously across the region.
- Comfortable managing the full sales journey from lead generation through to customer handover.
