My client is an established, well-known company within the Fluid Power sector and due to growth they are looking for someone to join their internal engineering team as a Trade Counter Assistant. As a Trade Counter Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the depot with a high level of customer services, ensuring clients receive a fast and effective response to any sales enquires, whilst supporting a busy warehouse with goods in and goods out.

Trade Counter Assistant

Birmingham

£27,000 - £30,000 Basic DOE, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme.

Monday – Thurs 8.30am-5pm & Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Assembly of Hydraulic Hoses based on customers’ requirements.
• Pressure testing hose assemblies.
• Understand the company product range and ensure all assemblies are complete correctly and safely.
• Assist colleagues with larger jobs on site.
• Support the warehouse department when required.
• Assist with machinery cleaning/servicing.
• Ensure HSE standards within the workshop are met.
• Carry out any potential local deliveries.
• Answer any inbound enquiries.
• Always provide first class customer service.
• Assist with material storage/management, stock control and workshop organisation.
• Support trade counter, goods in & out from the site.
• Suggest and implement improvements within the workshop.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

• Mechanical engineering experience - beneficial
• Hydraulic hose manufacturing and installation – beneficial.
• Hydraulic hose assembly experience – beneficial.
• Reliable, punctual and able to complete a full working day.
• Able to retain information and follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Willing to graft, contribute to a team and support others.
• Confident with Microsoft Office.
• A real “can do “attitude.
• A desire to be part of a team but comfortable working alone too.
