Field Service Engineer

Location: Sheffield Area

Are you a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer looking for a challenging and varied role? We’re seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a busy service team, working on heavy machinery and material handling equipment across the Sheffield area. This is a chance to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair cutting-edge equipment while providing excellent service to customers.

What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Work on a variety of machinery, from forklifts to heavy plant equipment
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and fault codes, including CANBUS systems
• Deliver technical advice and detailed reports to customers, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, sometimes at height or in challenging conditions

Skills & Experience

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Proven multi-skilled experience across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Previous experience with forklifts, heavy plant, or port machinery is highly desirable
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities

Package & Benefits

• £38,500 base salary + generous overtime rates
